Associate Director - CVRM Access Strategy

As anAssociate Director, Access Strategyin Wilmington, DE,fortheCVRM teamyou’llbe the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients.Representingsome of the most well-recognized and respected products in the industry,you'llbuild strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the clinical disease state and treatmentguidelines andeffectively engages with stakeholders in clinical discussions to inform access strategyfor the CVRM pipeline.

  • Partners with Brand teams to shape customer communication strategiesfor the CVRM pipelineand develop promotional assets that reflect access priorities and valuemessagingincluding pull through materials and negotiation frameworks.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of a cohesive communication strategyfor the CVRM pipelineacross payer, provider, and patient audiences to drive clarity on product value.

  • Develops compelling product value propositions and value strategiesfor the CVRM pipeline across market access channels, including payers, IDNs, pharmacies,distributors,and policy stakeholders.

  • Partners torecommend pricing and compliant payer contracting approaches aligned with brand P&L, including innovativeapproaches toevolving market challenges and contributingto the continuous improvement of market access strategies and execution.

  • Leads in the design and implementation of affordability programming thatensurespatient access while carefully stewarding brand budget andgross tonet impact.

  • Appliesadvancedunderstanding of the US market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment to ensure compliant, effective messaging and tactics.

  • Leads research and generates insights to inform market access messaging, evidence needs, and customer engagement plans.

  • Leadspayer research and landscape assessments to inform scenario planning, launch readiness, and risk mitigationfor the CVRM pipelineacross all segments

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ yrs experience in one or a combination of: pharmaceutical, healthcare, scientific, clinical,institutionalor related industryORcommercial experience

Desirable Requirements,Skillsand Capabilities

  • Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, or Science 

  • Demonstrated Learning Agility 

  • Experience developing and executing strategy

  • Managed care/payer experience

  • Ability to think strategically and to translate strategy into tactical implementation

  • Teamwork and leadership skills, including the ability to gain consensus and act within an ambiguous, complex matrix organization

  • Results oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Understanding of the US market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals

  • Understanding of customer and industry marketing practices and trends

  • Knowledge of drug pricing, gross-to-net dynamics, rebate contracting, utilizationmanagement, and value-based agreements
